Locust Post Alternative

Product Summary

The locust fence post was first put into commission by the early Appalachian settlers due to  its superb strength and unsurpassed resistance to decay. This classic fence has been used for generations in the Appalachian region.  Availability of the locust tree has diminished significantly over the last 100 years due to high demand and a slow growth pattern.  WVSR has chosen to replace the locust post with an MCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine post.  This treated post maintains the durability of locust and its light yellow/green coloration is similar in appearance.  It is paired with teh traditional untreated rail, which is ideal for animals.
